Handful of Stars — Stars Beneath My Feet — Snowflakes and Diamonds — Poets First Rhyme

To my friends who left their names

At open mic cabaret
I'd like to be a haunting refrain
To reach to you someday
Hanging out with a Handful of Stars—
Its my nature to shine
Vegas is the place to be

If you're so inclined

And like the light of an ancient star
That reaches us this day
I'd like my song to reach to you
After I fade away

Stars are bound to drift apart
The universe expands
It's sad to see on looking back
Our dreams got out of hand
I might have climbed right up the charts
Or burned up in a dive
But heaven helped me on the way
And kept the dream alive

And like the light of an ancient star
T hat reaches us this day
I'd like my song to reach to you
After I fade away

There was a wall at the open stage
Where stars would leave their names
This song goes out to everyone
Who shares the quest for fame

The world becomes a brighter place
When dreamers take a chance
And like all stars that fill up space
They need no song to dance
The silent hearts within us all
Are longing to be heard
I only hope my long lost friends
Will find me in these words

THE STARS BENEATH MY FEET

I recall our very first kiss
I couldn’t say exactly the time and place
You said, “Isn’t that so beautiful
Look at the setting sun”
But I didn’t look —
Being lost in your embrace
I was wondering could our hearts beat as one

It’s the better half of the Cosmos the love I hold so dear
If I am the North she’s the Southern Hemisphere
My view of the heavens is not complete without…
                  The Stars Beneath My Feet.

It would take the whole universe
to compare the size our everlasting love
I’d be a Garden of Galaxies
In that great iris above
But what’s below… I know who’s the boss
but  I don’t know
In the mysterious realms of the Southern Cross

It’s the better half of the Cosmos the love I hold so dear
If I am the North she’s the Southern Hemisphere
My view of the heavens is not complete without…
                  The Stars Beneath My Feet.

There must be some be some kind cosmic force
That keeps heavenly bodies spinning perfectly
In the halo of your embrace I keep on course
Love is what makes the universe of you and me

SNOWFLAKES AND DIAMONDS

What does a diamond go through?
To shine so bright and pure
To live a life completely true
Who knows what you endure
Mother, your love is with me
Like a mountain waterfall
With a gentle mist of spring
It touches one and all

Mother, your love is with me
Through stars once in space
In a garden of galaxies
Swirling in a flowers face
For all the tears in heaven
Creation’s crown is worn
Yet the world is blind to the love
Through which we all are born

What could make a snowflake
Be different every time?
To think that God could make you
After the first design
Mother, your love is with me
It makes me melt or shine
Like snowflakes and diamonds
So simple and yet divine.

THE POET’S FIRST RHYME

Since the dawning of time
And the poet’s first rhyme
Almost nothing has changed
In pleasure and pain
Still the rhymes are too few
For a love that is true
Love is an eternal mystery
Longing to be explained

As the waves rush ashore
They will make the same roar
As the very first wave
To wash on the sand
And my heart beats inside
With the same ebbs and tides
Of deep blue reaching for you
To take your hand

A trumpet shell
That washed ashore
Heralds our love
With a whispered roar
The whole universe
Wrapped up with a song
It's a heartbeat away
If we can just sing along

Our lives seem like breath
To the heavens depth
Still our love is greater than the sun
Let the waves wash ashore
Heaven cannot ignore
Our warm embrace
Where we form one
