Revolution of Heart / Poets Will be the First to Go

POETS WILL BE THE FIRST TO GO

When poets take over the world the trains will not run on rhymes
By then a hundred dollars would be worth two measly dimes
Adventure would be wall to wall and all tightropes would be slack
All those who disagree would be banished to Hackensack (...ack ack ack)

And the poets will be the first to go — fishing with a golden hook
Because they go against the flow and drink it by the book

Love would be the order of the day with hate vanquished to its lair
The secret poet in every soul would be bursting out everywhere
Come the revolution this rhyme might gain some notoriety
In making love not war— only love transforms society

Each would be handed the alphabet to redistribute hope
From the budding poetasters to the dilettantes who dole out dope
All playing fields would be level except for even skiers' slippery slopes
Pitchers could only stand on mounds endorsed by Almond Joy

And we would lower the bar to chocolate here in limbo land
And all legs point to the core of common ground where we stand
That is: white privilege's an evil edge but didn’t we all start out white
A miraculous ejaculate swimming for an egg with all its might

REVOLUTION OF HEART

        C           F                        G                           C

Can we ever come together as one walking hand in hand
       C                           F                 G                C
With division in our own hearts how can we make a stand
F                      C                    G                        F
Since the first tragedy when bloodshed stained the ground
 Em                          F                        C                       G
Brothers have been fighting –  Who will turn this world around
              F            G       C              Am
A Revolution of Heart will bring True Brotherhood
                F                G                         F                          C
Won’t you join us in the good fight  as we change the world for good

REVOLUTION OF HEART

Can we ever come together as one walking hand in hand
With division in our own hearts how can we make a stand
Since the first tragedy when bloodshed stained the ground
Brothers have been fighting – we must turn this world around

A Revolution of Heart will bring true brotherhood
Why can't we stand together and do the world some good

There are women in the shadows — for them the hour is dark

Who’ll bring true enlightenment — a modern Joan of Arc?
Some ceilings are made of cloth some are made of glass
For women — there is no high place — impossible to pass

A Revolution of Heart will bring true sisterhood
Why can't we stand together and do the world some good

Jesus was forsaken — was he not meant to have a bride?
Can a man be a True King without a lady by his side?
Will our sons and daughters want to wed our enemies?
True Parents have the Blessing to make the world family

A Revolution of Heart will bring true parenthood
Why can't we stand together and do the world some good

And what about the children and their precious childhoods?
How do you keep them from the wolves lurking in the woods?
Teach them to respect the majestic cranes that mate for life
And be a good example of a true loving husband and wife

A Revolution of Heart will bring True Childhood

Why can't we stand together and do the world some good

The following two verses can be added as the third and fourth verses

If you get far enough away the world looks like a ball
And a shadow of a line appears — that is the Great Wall
It’s like looking at a broken heart to see this world of doubt
For half of us are locking in what the other half locks out

A Revolution of Heart will break down every wall
Why can’t we stand together for the good of one and all

Of all the possibilities we're destined to embrace
From the Sea of Tranquility Earth seems a peaceful place
We will end the suffering from the ancient enmity
When I See God In You and You See God In Me

Through the window to the soul we find divinity
When I See God In You and You See God In Me

REVOLUTION OF HEART (1982)

When the world is filled with walls that keep us  all apart
There must be someone you can trust to open up your heart
We will take the love of God to where freedom is denied
By serving our brothers and sisters suffering on the other side

A Revolution of Heart will bring true brotherhood
Won’t you join us in the good fight as we change the world for good

Our Father has opened new frontiers we’re following his way
We are the on ones to pioneer the world beyond today
Our hearts of gold have been refined by fathers love so pure
We’re golden fish in a muddy stream destined to endure

When the pillars of justice fall we’ll proudly make our stand
There’s nothing for us to fear our lives are  in good hands
We’ll bring down the walls of Jericho as we let out a mighty roar
All heaven wlll be rejoicing in God’s Kingdom evermore

WHAT’S SO GREAT ABOUT THE WALL

If you get far enough away the world looks like a ball
And a shadow of a line appears — that is the Great Wall
It’s like looking at a broken heart to see this world of doubt
For half of us are locking in what the other half locks out

The Great Wall may appear to be a monumental design
But on the face of Mother Earth it’s just an aging line

Where there’s freedom people will create boundaries on their own
Some may crush you if you stumble on their precious pile of stones
Without freedom the stones get crushed to reinforce  the wall
And fools line to grab the pieces when tyranny takes a  fall

A Revolution of Heart will break down every wall
Why can’t we stand together for the good of one and all

In the rubble  of the old wall a new wall will appear
These new walls are  tougher walls made of doubt and fear
Some walls may be paper thin — some are a s thick as your skin
And where the  wall around you ends is where  the world begins

WHEN I SEE GOD IN YOU

If not for being invisible
How would God appear?
Are His and Her Signatures
Not throughout the Spheres?
The essence of the Universe
Is reflected perfectly
When I See God In You
And You See God In Me

Through the window to the soul
We find divinity
When I See God In You
And You See God In Me

Did it all start with a big bang—
Was there a Logos on God's lips?
Could a Cosmic Explosion
Create a perfect eclipse?
Nature may be evolving
But not so day and night
When God set things in motion —
She had one chance to get it right

Through the window to the soul
We find divinity
When I See God In You
And You See God In Me

Of all the possibilities
We're destined to embrace
From the Sea of Tranquility
Earth seems a peaceful place
We will end the suffering
From the ancient enmity
When I See God In You
And You See God In Me

Through the window to the soul
We find divinity
When I See God In You
And You See God In Me
