GARDEN OF GALAXIES /Invisible Bouquet/ THE WORLD OF YOU

GARDEN OF GALAXIES

Each trip around the sun becomes a tree’s annular ring
Fingerprints that spiral  Galactic beads on a string...
Observing Io and Jupiter — learn the speed of light
What secrets of the universe will be revealed tonight?
I saw a shooting star  above the Redwood Trees
In the Garden of Galaxies

I've stood at the Acropolis amid the marble and stones
And still feel the symmetry deep inside our bones
Leonardo drew a man in a circle and square
The Vitruvian Woman would have completed the pair
An ideal family is quintessentially
In the Garden of Galaxies

In the time it took to sing this song the sun sent light to the earth
The photons are about halfway here — So what's a good soul worth?
Life is more than a cosmic ride on a carousel through space
The secret of the universe is longing to be embraced
It's Okay to hug a tree but not the Manatees
In the Garden of Galaxies

GRAND CLICHE

Wasn’t there a carousel here just the other day—
And a sad-eyed mime with an invisible bouquet?
The funny way he held that shell so it squirted out his ear
Please don’t tell me that he’s gone that he just disappeared

Still the moon tugs at the ocean washing shells to the shore
It’s a grand cliché nothing less and nothing more

He had all the girls waiting in line — laughing at his antics
Why did I end up going all the way across the Atlantic
Like that Carousel of my childhood back in sixty-three
When a mighty hurricane ripped it out to sea

On a shipwrecked carousel we would play at low tides
I wanted to tell the mime of my many cosmic rides
I recall his invisible bouquet and how my poor heart aches

As if there were prancing ponies in each wave that breaks

Wasn’t there supposed to be a carousel that waltzed into our masked soire
Oh what I meant to say was it just a clown on his toes with his helium balloon bouquet
Enter the shell of a grand cliche who cares to eat when its time to make her big entre

Why do I feel like the poor player the coach warming the bench for keeps
Here I am at the grand canal about to weep into the depths so deep
{where that man took a dive Dropping daisey petals into the trench}

Watching reflections ripple out — each petal shatters half a doubt
Each petal screams as I pull it off with a breathless twist and shout

Like an empty shell spiraling out of control
Am I just a grand cliche just a promise washed away
An echo of nothingness here to say
the same as you heard yesterday The same as you heard yesterday

the plot thickens and curves around
Like the long arm of the Milky Way
the endless waves and surf abounds
like heartbeats for a rainy day

Joy: [Half-singing]

Wasn’t there a Venetian carousel somewhere in this square?
The Laughing Lady said they sent it back to Rome for repair…
Wasn’t there a carousel here — did it get swept away?
And the clown with the invisible balloons that kept him on his toes;
Where did he go he must have given away billions of bouquets
(But in the end someone always has to pay)…
Imagine how you’d feel if your favorite carousel ride
Was suddenly washed out to the ocean with a hurricanes’ tide …
  [Now breaking out in song]

What happened to the carousel  —did it get swept away?
And the clown who offers balloons from an invisible bouquet
Let go of your balloon before the first evening stars
And it just might join the dots dot dot dot in the vicinity of Mars

What happened to the carousel did it get swept away?
And the clown with the golden grin; the invisible bouquet

Imagine feeling like a clown your face is fading in the rain
When your good times disappear and then come round again
That’s how a painted pony feels when her colors chip and fade
Just give me one faithful friend and let yet rain on my parade

Imagine riding a comet through a carousel of space
Seeing planets in pirouette making up the galaxies face
If you get dizzy as a pinwheel from all the ups and downs
Wait till you see your own true love smiling through a painted frown

Mr. Poet: [singing]
Life is but a cosmic ride on a carousel through space
With planets in a pirouette making up the galaxy's face

In a distant galaxy we find a clown who croons
“I would a happy man if I could dispense with these balloons”

The clown hangs ‘round the carousel with his invisible bouquets
On his toes with those cartoon balloons about to be swept away

In a distinct galaxy we find a clown who croons
you are the only gal in the galaxy for me among the ones who swoon

About the girl with chestnut hair wondering how to make her day
You could sweep her off her feet you know, with an invisible bouquet.

In a distant galaxy we find a clown who croons
I would a happy man if I could dispense with these balloons

All this talk of helium and the champagne spray of the seas
Somewhere in the distance an angel mermaid faintly lets go of a sneeze
Salty breath of fresh air in an inebriating breeze
Tiny bubbles of perfume spray say ambergris or is that Greece

INVISIBLE BOQUET

Life is just a cosmic ride on carousel through space
With planets in a pirouette making up the galaxies face
Sometimes you wear a smile sometimes it’s a frown
Always reaching for that golden ring as you go up and down

You see the girl with the chestnut hair and wonder how to make her day
Just sweep her off her feet with an invisible bouquet

enter sad-eyed mime with phases of face like the moon’s
By the carousel on his toes offering the girls imaginary balloons
Watch out for his squirting flower the laughing lady laughs
The comet roller coaster wasn’t made for timid giraffes

And there it is beyond your reach the golden halo prize
Well isn’t one man’s sunset just an another man’s sunrise
If you get dizzy as a pinwheel from all the ups and down
Imagine seeing your love smiling through a painted frown

WASN’T THERE A CAROUSEL

Wasn’t there a carousel
Here just the other day
And a joker who captivates you
With invisible bouquets
He could make you laugh
Holding a shell to his ear
But with a spin of his golden grin
He’s gone and disappeared

Still the moon tugs at the ocean
And washes shells up to the shore
It’s a grand cliché, an illusion
Nothing less and nothing more

You may feel just like a clown
Your face is fading in the rain
When your good times disappear
And then come round again
That’s how a painted pony feels
When her colors chip and fade
Just give me faithful friend
And let it rain on my parade

Why does the moon tug the ocean
And wash the shells up to theshore
It’s a grand cliché, an illusion
Nothing less and nothing more

Imagine there’s a carousel
On the shores of a cosmic dream
And a clown shadow dancing
The circle of moonbeam
The waves pound out a pantomime
Of heart that’s beating free
When love’s an endless carousel
In the prancing waves of the sea

Why does the moon tug the ocean
And wash the shells up to the shore
It’s a grand cliché, an illusion
Nothing less and nothing more

NOTHING LESS AND NOTHING MORE

Wasn’t there a carousel here just the other day?
And a mime with golden grin and invisible bouquet
The funny way he held that shell  it was nautical to his ear
Please don’t tell me that he’s gone and disappeared

Still the moon reigns in the ocean washing shells to the shore
It’s a grand cliché nothing less and nothing more

He had all the girls waiting in line —laughing at his antics
How did I end up here on the other side of the Atlantic
Like that Carousel by the shore when it got taken for a ride
With a mighty hurricane it just went out with the tide

We used to play on a shipwrecked carousel at low tides
I wanted to tell the mime of our travels on a cosmic ride
I recall his invisible bouquet and how my poor heart aches
As if there were prancing ponies in very wave that breaks

THE WORLD OF YOU

Nature has her paintbrush
Seasons their parade of hues
Warm Grays and browns in winter
Summer cool greens and blues
The radiance in your eyes
Compliments your hair and skin
But what is more amazing
Is the world I see within

I may think the world of you
For all that you’re made of
I love to see all nature in you
For it’s your nature to love

Your eyes outdo the flowers
How they open and close
By day all colors are blended
Bt night a soft star glows
The universe in a flower
Love and beauty splendid
A flowering universe
Its bloom has never ended

I may think the world of you…

A doe standing quietly
Beside a stream of gold
Gone in a flash — she was —
A vision to behold
The way the scene is painted
Harmonized to perfection
And how my love’s true hair
Once matched her complexion

KEEP ON THE PATH

AND OUT OF THE WOODS

A rain comes to the darkness

And all nature will overflow
With the light new blades of grass
Our spirits are beginning to grow

Keep on the path and out of the woods

You'll reach your dreams for sure
As we find deep in our childhoods
Our hearts that once were pure

The rain has made a waterfall

From the river rising up
We open up to take in it all
And our hearts are such little cups

Keep on the path...

The moss has grown on all the trees

The forest has all turned green
There's new life in the breeze
Taking us where we've never been

Keep on the path...
