Golden Children

Golden Children are climbing in the branches of an apple tree
The boughs are so embracing they fit so naturally
Too soon the blossoms disappear as little apples start to grow
Who can hold unto their youth when its time for youth to go

And any child who ever sat amid the blossoms of an apple tree
Would know that being golden is the best way to be

A golden child is reaching for an apple on the bough
As the evening sun shines golden upon a rusty plow
An apple in a child’s eyes shines like the planet Mars
Slice an apple crossway and see the five point stars

And any…

Lady Pink and Granny Smith apples are the same within
It’s like they’re almost human having different colors of skin
The sun makes a cameo appearance in the ivory of the sky
God sees each golden child through the apple of his eye…

And any...

"Every freckle disappears
Stars speckle the night's face
The mystery of the universe
Is longing to be embraced"

In ancient redwood trees
A spotted owl was hooting
Above the forest canopy
I saw a star a shooting
Thinkin' of my true love's eyes
How they open and close
By day all colors are blended
By night a soft star glows

I may think
The world of you
For all that
You're made of
I love to see
All nature in you
For it's your nature
To love

Beside the quiet stream
There's a doe a drinkin'
The dappled golden colors
Has set my mind to thinkin'
The way all nature's painted
With colors that blend in
And how my loves true hair
Matches her eyes and skin

I may think
The world of you
For all that
You're made of
I love to see
All nature in you
For it's your nature
To love

First rays of sun on the wing
Wild geese on the rise
The image of a mountain
Is moving through the skies
Thinkin' of a higher place
Love will take me there
Embrace me like a halo
I'll be a solar flare

I may think
The world of you
For all that
You're made of
I love to see
All nature in you
For it's your nature
To love
